Reflecting on a lecture entitled 'From Studio to Site' (Joelson, 2022) I think about how the residency experience is pushing me out of my studio experience and what possibilities that offers. I want to work on a bigger scale, outdoors, in collaboration with place.

With the 10 expanded studio types described in the lecture in mind (factory, laboratory, archive, sanctuary, gallery, exhibition, live/ work space, shared/ international space, street and site), I undertake a 4 hour survey walk across the estate, seeking out potential sites for large scale weavings or textile based interventions.
